Terms of Service

1. What Go Elsewhere is

Go Elsewhere shows animated, code-drawn scenes of real natural places with ambient sound and music. Some scenes are free for everyone. Go Elsewhere Premium gives access to every scene, every new scene while your access lasts, and member place requests. Go Elsewhere is not affiliated with the National Park Service or any park.

2. Accounts and the free trial

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and 18 (or have a parent or guardian's permission) to buy a plan. Keep access to your email secure: anyone who can open your sign-in links can use your account. You sign in with a link sent to your email address. Creating an account starts a 7-day free trial of Premium. The trial needs no payment card, ends on its own and never turns into a paid plan unless you choose one.

3. Plans and automatic renewal

• Monthly: $4.99 per month. Annual: $49 per year. Prices are in US dollars; taxes may be added where required.
• Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the price shown at checkout, at the end of each billing period, until you cancel. Your payment method is charged at each renewal.
• Before an annual plan renews we send a reminder by email, between 15 and 45 days before the renewal date. We will tell you in advance, by email, about any change to your renewal price.
• Founders Club: the first 100 annual members pay $29 per year, and the first 100 lifetime members pay $79. The founders annual price stays the same for as long as that subscription continues without interruption. If it ends (for example after cancelling or a failed payment that is not recovered), a new subscription is charged the normal price.

4. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time online: open Premium in the app, choose Manage or cancel, and cancel. You can also email [email protected] from your account address and we will cancel for you. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

5. Lifetime

Lifetime is a single payment ($129, or $79 for founders) with no renewal. It gives Premium access for the lifetime of Go Elsewhere, including every new scene, for as long as Go Elsewhere operates. If Go Elsewhere ever shuts down, we will give at least 60 days' notice by email.

6. Refunds

If you are not happy, email us within 30 days of your first payment for any plan (including Lifetime) and we will refund it in full. A refunded plan ends when the refund is issued. Later renewals are not refundable, but you can cancel at any time. This does not limit any rights you have under the law where you live, including any legal right to withdraw from a purchase.

7. Payments

Checkout and payments are handled by Stripe. Where Stripe Managed Payments applies, Stripe acts as the merchant of record for the sale and handles the applicable sales tax or VAT, and Stripe's own buyer terms also apply. We never see or store your full card details.

8. Place requests

Paying members can request a place. Go Elsewhere depicts natural places only, not cities. We build requests that are real, publicly accessible natural places we can depict well, and we may decline or adapt any request, for example private property, recognizable businesses or signage, or places that cannot be shown respectfully. New scenes are released to all Premium members.

9. Acceptable use

Premium is for personal use. Please don't share your account, resell access, or copy, scrape or redistribute the scenes. Businesses that want to show Go Elsewhere on screens in public or commercial spaces should contact us for a license. Recordings made by others remain under their own licenses, listed in the app's credits.

10. Ownership

Go Elsewhere, its scenes, code, design and text belong to Victor Augusteo. Your plan gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the service while your access lasts. Sound and music recordings made by others remain under their own licenses, listed in the credits.

11. Suspension and ending

You can stop using Go Elsewhere and cancel at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, for example by sharing or reselling access or attacking the service. If we close a paid account without such a reason, we will refund the unused part of any prepaid period.

12. The service and liability

We work to keep Go Elsewhere running and improving, but it is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including uninterrupted availability or fitness for a particular purpose. Scenes are artistic depictions, not live views or scientific records. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in California, or in small claims court where eligible. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you the right to bring claims at home, that right still applies. Before starting any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. We will email members about material changes before they take effect, and changes never apply to a billing period you already paid for. The version and date are shown at the top of this page.
